Always wear safety glasses with STEAM HAMMER!

In this steam hammer experiment we see the force of water rushing into the bottle shatters the flask. It is a great experiment that reminds us to always wear proper safety equipment. The hot steam in the flask condenses into water which creates a low pressure environment which water rapidly fills. In this case the water fills a bit too rapidly and shatters the glass. Be safe in the lab and always use proper safety equipment in case surprises like this occur.
