Electrolysis surprise products (I thought I'd get HYDROGEN GAS...)

What happens when you shock salt water (NaCl) with copper electrodes? I tried this a few years ago and was totally shocked!

What happens when you shock salt water (NaCl) with copper electrodes? I tried this a few years ago and was totally shocked! Do the experiment and explore the results in a handwritten tutorial. The big guiding concepts I have been reflecting on are:
1) What allows electrons to FLOW
a) What picks up electrons at the CATHODE
b) What deposits electrons at the ANNODE
2) What REACTIONS allow electrons to flow
3) How does the REDOX table help support or refute my initial thoughts

Learn about:
Cathodes and Anodes
Oxidation and Reduction
Precipitates
Gas Formation
pH Changes
Equilibrium of Water
Oxidation Electronic Potential Tables
Ions in solution
